The return to something insignificant

11 things I like about my job

Things I like about my job as an airport agent ✈️

  1. 3AM shifts!! I fell in love with my peaceful morning walks to the gate and realized I can be a (super) early bird. I also love this shift because I get to go home early (supposedly) and it makes me feel so productive and fulfilled in life.
  2. Split shifts can be fun sometimes. Work is divided into two 4-hour sessions make time feel like it’s flying. I can also go home to nap in between shifts which is pretty cool if I’m tired.
  3. I actually love the fact that my schedule can be different every month, week, and day. My day offs are random. It feels fresh and I don’t get bored of the typical 9-5 structure.
  4. I feel like an office worker (even though I’m more of a customer service rep) bc Im in front of the computer typing away
  5. I love the whole process of checking people in. It feels like a game (papers please irl)
  6. Working at the airport feels fancy, something I can feel proud of talking about with friends and families. I also like the lil scarf (makes me feel like a flight attendant)
  7. The airport is also simply a great place to work at. The view is so pretty, I love looking at airplanes.
  8. I met pretty cool people and made new friends physically (something I haven’t done in a long time)
  9. Free water everywhere. I can bring my cute ass tiny bottle because I can just refill it anywhere (in the break room, in the office, or even in 7eleven)
  10. Accessible. Sure it takes an hour to transit but at least it’s only two buses and the walk isn’t far so I can leave the house on the dot without extra wait times.
  11. Future benefits like free flights (where I only need to pay taxes!!). Once I’ve been working for more than 6 months I think that’s when I’ll be eligible for a buddy pass.

I never knew I’d be feeling content in life being employed. I never thought I’d say this, but I’m happy here and I hope I get to keep it.
